Isabella Lobkowicz
Almost 100 chairs for 100 people
Isabella Lobkowicz (Milan, 1988) is an Italian designer, scientist and engineer based in London. She exhibited her drawings and collages across Europe. Her drawings of chairs became a book, Almost 100 Chairs for 100 People, published by Moleskine and distributed across the world. These drawings form the basis of the furniture line she is presenting in Italy for the first time at Design Week Milano 2024.

Almost 100 Chairs for 100 People originated from a simple idea: there are many chairs in the world, so many, but nobody seems to think about the characters who are going to sit on them. I liked the idea that by slightly modifying the legs, backrest, seat, I would be able to fit it to the actual user of the chair. Now finally everybody has their own chair: fakirs, bodybuilders, free spirits and so many more – even Escher! An ongoing project where only some of the ideas can find their tridimensionality.
